Anton Knestel, from Hopferbach, a tinkerer and inventor for control electronics, developed a new measurement principle for MAHA in 1975/76 in his free time at his own garage workshop. The principle made us of “Reed” contacts and starting in 1978 replaced the previously used mechanical centrifugal force sensor switch. 1976 Founding of the first MAHA foreign dea- lership in Austria -> MAHA Maschinenbau and Vertriebs-Ges.mbH in A-6300 Wörgl/Tirol. The “Supanz“‘ company takes over the sales and mar- keting of MAHA test stands in Austria. The field of truck test stands was expanded very successful- ly. MAHA received a major order from Moscow for the production and installation of 40 brake testers for 20 taxi fleets. And in the same year a second large order arrived from England for the produc- tion and delivery of about 2,000 hydraulic brake testers. The expanding business meant the production hall was running full-time requiring ever growing capacity growth. 18
